The stunning Gross-Wells-Barnum House is the icon of our Society. Although the Humboldt County Historical Society has been in existence since 1947—75 years—this 1902 Eureka beauty was donated in 1993 to HCHS through Helen Barnum’s estate. Between 1947 and 1993, HCHS conducted business from a variety of libraries, community rooms and schools before the generosity of the Gross, Wells and Barnum family settled us in and gave us an opportunity to grow.
