Other places to look for Humboldt County History
Humboldt County history is preserved in several locations around the county. Some organizations have specific materials or rules about accessing their materials. If you will be visiting the area, contact the organization to find out about these and their hours of operation. This is a work in progress. If you know of organizations or work being done, please contact the society at hchs@humboldthistory.org and let us know about it. There is no particular order to the list.

The Eureka Branch of the public library also has microfilm of local newspapers dating back to the mid 1800's, Birth, Death and Marriage records, and the Humboldt County Tax Records from 1862 through 1957.
The Humboldt Room contains many resources in print and on microfilm that are not available in other locations. Many of the photographs have been digitized in conjunction with the California Digital Library and may be accessed through the library's website.
