Redwood Gems: Native Wildflowers of the Realm by Dorothy King Young

Redwood Gems is a new edition of a book first published in 1964. This book is packed with photos and descriptions of 120 native plants in Humboldt County. It is a convenient size to carry in your day pack as you hike the forests and hills of our area. If you, like Ms Young, are a plant collector, there is a space at the end of each description to fill in information of where and when you first saw the plant. This allows you to leave the plant for others to enjoy.
